Indian Air Force Day 2025: The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 93rd Foundation Day on 8 October today. The Air Force was established on 8 October 1932, and since then every year this day is celebrated as a symbol of the country's strength, discipline and courage. This year's main ceremony was held at Hindon Air Force Station in Ghaziabad, where the magnificent parade and exciting air show mesmerized everyone.

World's fourth largest air force

The Indian Air Force is the fourth largest air force in the world. It performs its duties not only during wartime but also during natural disasters and humanitarian crises. Whether it's repatriating Indian citizens from foreign lands safely or providing relief in disasters, the Air Force has always been at the forefront.

The motto & symbol of the Air Force

The motto of the Air Force is "Nabhah Sprisham Deeptam," meaning "touching the sky with pride." This sentence is taken from the Bhagavad Gita and reflects the valor and pride of the Air Force. The Air Force flag was adopted in 1951, with a national flag in the corner on a blue background and a trinity round mark in the middle.

History and Journey of Development

During the British rule, the Indian Air Force was called the "Royal Indian Air Force." After independence, the word "Royal" was removed and in 1950 it became the "Indian Air Force." At that time Air Marshal Sir Thomas W. Elmhirst became the first Air Force chief of independent India. Over the years, the Air Force has made great progress in both technical and strategic sectors, making it a modern and self-sufficient force.

Example of valor

The Indian Air Force has affected the world from time to time with its technical and strategic abilities. From the Kargil War to the Balakot air strike, every mission proved that India's Air Force is a symbol of indomitable courage and accuracy. Each of their actions gave the message that the security and respect of the country are paramount.

Air Chief's message and future direction

This year Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, In his message on Air Force Day, said that campaigns like 'Operation Sindhoor' have given a new identity to India's indigenous abilities and coordination of joint forces. He said that the Air Force will become even more self-sufficient and strong in the coming time.

Day of pride and honor

Indian Air Force Day is not just a military event but a day of pride and respect for every Indian. This day reminds us of those heroes who not only protect the boundaries but also keep the security and pride of the country paramount in every difficult situation.
